everything is everything is everywhere

i am noticing, as we progress into the future, we are further disconnecting ourselves from the earth we live on. computer social networks pull us away from real flesh and blood relationships, television keeps us inside missing the slow and silent revolution of the day. some of us don't know, or even care, where the food we eat comes from.

there is a certain sacred relationship that we once had with the world we live in and we were once aware of the interconnectedness we shared with our earth and everyone, everything in it. long ago, we were mindful and conscientious to every tree, rock, and passing animal knowing of its animate nature and ethereal beauty, we performed rituals to honor each coming season, we paid attention to different signs from the clouds, the wind, the birds, and listened as they told of things to come. there was a kind of mutual respect that naturally occurred because we knew, metaphorically speaking, we were all rivers carrying the same ocean.
